Privacy

What we store and what we do not. Submissions are anonymous, and we do not keep personal information.

No accounts, no personal information

You do not sign in and you do not give us your name, email, or any account details. We do not store IP addresses or device identifiers against your submissions. There is nothing here that identifies you.

What we do store

We store the text of the query you submit, because that is the content a reading is written from. It is kept as content, not as a record about a person, and it is not linked to any identity.

Rate limiting and abuse prevention

To keep the service available and prevent abuse, we briefly count requests per visitor. We do not store your IP address to do this: the address is converted into a one-way, salted hash that cannot be turned back into an IP, and that hash is held only for a short security window (seconds to at most a day) before it is automatically deleted. It is never written to our main database and is never used to build any profile of you. This limited processing is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest in security.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand which pages are read. It does not track you across sites and does not collect personal information.

Advertising and cookies

Pages carry advertising served by Google, using the Google AdSense service. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can review and control how Google uses this data at google.com/settings/ads, and learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. For visitors in the UK and EEA, a consent message lets you accept or decline non-essential and advertising cookies before any such cookie is set, and your choice is respected.

Changes

If this notice changes, the updated version will be posted here.
